Alice Springs Telegraph Station - Masterplan and Visitor Centre

Established in 1871 as a link in the overland telegraph line between Adelaide and Darwin, the Alice Springs Telegraph Station is one of the most important heritage sites in Australia's Red Centre. Dunn & Hillam were engaged to re-envisage the visitor experience of the site and protect its valuable heritage.

Sited along the Todd River, just outside of Alice Springs Town Centre, the Telegraph Station is also a popular destination for picnicking, mountain biking, and hiking. The masterplan proposes a new visitor centre which facilitates these various interests, whilst providing amenity to the heritage precinct.
