Alice Springs Telegraph Station - Masterplan and Visitor Centre
Established in 1871 as a link in the overland telegraph line between Adelaide and Darwin, the Alice Springs Telegraph Station is one of the most important heritage sites in Australia's Red Centre. Dunn & Hillam are certified heritage architects and were engaged to reimagine the visitor experience of the site and protect its valuable fabric.
Sited along the Todd River, just outside of Alice Springs Town Centre, the Telegraph Station is also a popular destination for picnicking, mountain biking, and hiking. The masterplan proposes a new visitor centre which facilitates these various interests, whilst providing amenity to the heritage precinct.
