DA Approval: Social Housing Project

We’re excited to share that we’ve received DA approval from Hilltops Council for a new crisis and emergency accommodation in their area. This is a project that has entirely been driven by the local community, who’ve had fundraising balls, baked cakes and donated their own time and money.

The accommodation is provided across two buildings arranged around a central space bringing together the entry courtyards of each unit, allowing for residents to feel safe within the presence of their neighbours. Each building has an accessible unit on the ground floor and two 2-storey 2-bedroom units. As tenant numbers and need varies, each unit has been designed with a dual-key approach to offer 3-bedroom capacities where required.

We believe that to design social housing well means to design for dignity. This project will provide a stabilising force for those within the community whose lives are temporarily in turmoil.
