Sustainability in Precinct Planning

Render by DunnHillam.

Sustainability in precinct planning is more than Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and trees. In our projects we will also always try to propose paths along topographical lines to reduce natural stresses, to retain all existing buildings, to insert new buildings into the damaged places, to set a framework for nature to regenerate, to educate visitors about natural systems, sustainable strategies and indigenous culture, to connect canopy across the precinct and beyond, to make walkable precincts at gradients of less than 1:21, to set building zones and envelopes to facilitate the best orientation for buildings for passive design...there’s more of course.

To see one example of our work in precinct planning you can look to the Henley Precinct plan, feedback collection has been just been closed, but the documents for public exhibition are still available for viewing here.

Located on Wallumadegal Country, the Henley Precinct is an 8.6 hectare public space alongside the Parramatta River in Hunter's Hill Council.
